Beatrice Beutel is a figurative oil painter, blending her technical training and love of impressionism with abstract concepts. She hopes to tell a story and express her introspective thoughts, while creating space for the viewer's own reflection and dialogue.
She has always been drawn to story-telling and exploring the human experience, and uses her previous training at NYU Tisch as an actress to guide her visual work. In some ways, paintings are just a beat of a scene, frozen in time. To fulfill her desired vision, Beatrice learned graphite, charcoal and oil painting techniques from multiple atelier trained teachers to better capture the human form, working primarily from live models and studies.
When she is not painting, she is spending time at home in Sleepy Hollow, NY with her two kitties and husband, or engaging in one of her many hobbies and crafts. She also teaches as the art specialist once a month for a local community, working with kindergarteners through 5th graders.
